Quick Tips - Tablesaw Tips

If you feel your tablesaw motor is being bogged down or slow when ripping thick stock, using a smaller blade diameter might help. Instead of using a 10" blade, use an 8" instead. The teeth will actually be traveling slower, but they will have more torque as they are closer to the arbor.

Another answer for this problem would be to use a thinner kerf blade as it removes less material.

There are also dedicated ripping blades, instead of using a general purpose woodworkers blade.

Of course, if you seem to have a problem will all your cutting, verify that the current blade you are using is sharp and flat.
