How to ebonise a piece of wood
Ebonising a piece of wood blackens the wood. With the use of acetate pyrolignite iron, you can get tones from gray to black. It is possible to make this mixture yourself with common household items.

Product Preparation : Use 50 to 100g of various pieces of scrap metal (old nails, steel wool, hinges, etc..) And 1 liter of acetic acid (vinegar), slightly warm. Let the metal sit in the vinegar for 24 to 48 hours in a glass container before applying the solution. This product will last a maximum of 2 weeks.
Application Method: Prepare the room properly. Dampen the surface to raise the grain of the wood and let dry 12 to 24 hours. Use sand paper and to sand #180 grit. Apply the solution of iron acetate with a brush and let dry 24 hours. Two or three applications will intensify the color. Colored with a dye or a dye plant, if necessary and allow to dry for 8 hours. Cover with a surface finish.
