Hold to Fold a Bandsaw Blade - Video
Woodworking Tools - Machine Tools (Tablesaw, Planer, Jointer, etc)

Let's face it, bandsaw blades are springy little things. When it comes time to folding them away for storage or whatever reason, sometimes it can be a real pain.

Here's a video showing you an easy and safe way on how to fold or coil up a bandsaw blade. For those of you who cannot see the video, what you do is, get your safty gear on like gloves, glasses, and a long slevve shirt maybe, then:

1) Hold the blade out in front of you on a flat surface with the teeth pointing away from you

2) Put your foot on the blade and grab the blade at the top by underneath

3) Compress the blade about halfway so it is more of an oval, and then twist as far as you can and grab with your other hand to finish.

You should now have a bandsaw blade that is coiled in thirds.

Use some twist ties or tape to keep the blade from springing back open.

Oh yeah, if you ever want to uncoil the blade again, the safest way that I have found is to go outside (or in a large open area) and just throw the blade away from you. It will spring open really quick.
