It's a good idea to release the tension of the bandsaw blade from the tire at the end of the day, or especially when you know you will not be using the bandsaw for a while.

Leaving the tension on the blade for long periods of time will eventually cause a permanent ridge in the tire itself.

Put a note on the bandsaw to help remind yourself to release the blade when you will not be using it for a while.
