Careers in the Woodworking Industry

Woodworkers must be skilled, more so than they have been in the past. Skilled woodworkers of today and tomorrow need the dexterity of their hands and the intellect in their minds. Although traditional woodworking shops are still the norm, todays woodworking industry has evoloved significantly with the advent of computer technology.

Better and safer equipment makes woodworking a more palatable choice than it ever was before. It is also a very portable job, and although there can be a high turnover rate, you will never be out of work for long, in any area of the country, or world for that matter if you have woodworking skills.

Woodworking is one of the few careers that contains artistry, craftsmanship and technical knowledge in the same shop, and sometimes in the same person. It has the potential to engage you both physically and mentally.
